Hello my lovelies,
I wrote to you last Sunday and within 12 hours I was regretting it. I wrote all about my experiences with Vinted and I had been gathering my thoughts for so long!
But the thing is, you can’t (it seems) sign up for Vinted if you are in Ireland (yet). You guys very kindly pointed this out to me. And it seems you want to. I can’t believe this - and I am sorry for getting hopes up!
I mean what??
Sometimes I despair of Ireland and if I’m honest blame Brexit. (lol). Not really - but actually, if the shoe fits. I am sorry. As it happens, I did have a conversation with someone who knew things about Vinted a while back and I was told it was on it’s way to the Emerald Isle. It seems it still is. For now, don’t go through the customs despair. It’s not worth that.
And there are other sites to use, Vinted is not the only game in town. I found this little bag on Depop going back 7 or 8 years ago in Ireland and it has come out each summer since.
The Irish Times not so long ago wrote a piece on the options people are using in Ireland to buy and sell their clothes.
I’ve also dug out this one from Image Magazine - Trading your clothes online.
I hope they are useful.
It’s also worth noting that I have had lots of clients who would literally despair at the thought of using Vinted or anything similar. For all sorts of reasons. Time. Patience. The thought of wearing something someone else wore. We are each different and at different points in our own style journey’s and that’s ok too.
Great wardrobes are built by uncovering the truth of what value looks like for you.
Not in cost but in what makes getting dressed easier, better and more lovely - every day. You also have to believe what you are adding is something good for your wardrobe. If you're not there yet with second-hand or vintage, that’s ok.
Meanwhile, in Paris this week, I did not wear this, my much-loved Sezane gingham wrap dress that I’ve been dreaming about taking out of the wardrobe - because it’s been raining all week! So instead I’m reminiscing over pictures of wearing it in the UK last time last year.
Paris in the Springtime - oh the irony!
