Hello Julie, Love your take on clothing and the story of the skirt. I have an obsession with jeans that often goes along in a similar way. If the fit and the feel aren't doing it for me in that just right way, I get that little shred of disappointment too. Kerry

Ahh good to know I'm not the only one Kerry :-) I think I'm the same with Jeans too. OBSESSED with a great fit...no matter how many pairs I own :-))))

Been there done it and got the proverbial t shirt. You are not alone. Obsession is the absolutely correct term. If you can’t get it, it just grows in importance. Hope when you do get the right one, you can make it feel fabulous or you just chalk up to experience and send it back.

It's so true Sue. That's a great way to put it - it grows in importance, It's like it becomes the thing you think your wardrobe will literally fail without :-)) I'm thinking this one will be chalked down to just that....experience and it's great to have a bank of these experiences that help steer you in the future too ;-)

I also find the same thing happens if my husband doesn’t want me to buy something - either he doesn’t like it or, more often, he thinks it’s too expensive. I have purchased said garment literally to show him that I can and will and then realised he was actually right after all!

Aw i think everyone can relate to this!! ❤️ it’s so disappointing when it’s just not quite as amazing as it was in my head! Hopefully you do find the skirt you are looking for eventually! Xx

Oh, Julie, I so understand where you’re coming from - ‘putting things on a style pedestal’ - been there so many times. 😉🫣 For me, I’ve discovered it’s all about the feel, particularly when I first put it on. If it slips on and feels as though it ought to be there, then it ought to be there. The second thing that tells me, is if I want to wear something ‘soon as.’ Of course, I’ve broken these self imposed guidelines…but they stay true! I’d love to hear how you get on with the skirt and if you keep it, then I’d love to hear how you style it. Sue

Very wise words Sue. 'If it slips on'...I love this. It is that feeling of just fitting like a glove, that's the one you want. Will hopefully keep you posted on the skirt xx
